Warrior Taekwondo student kicking a pad: kup grading success

Kup Grading Success: Every Warrior Levelled Up

October 15, 2026•2 min read

Last week we held our latest kup gradings, and what a day it was. Every student who stepped onto the mat left it a level higher. Each one earned a new belt, and every new belt was earned the hard way.

A grading is not just a test of kicks and patterns. It is a test of character. Throughout the day, our four Warrior pillars were on show in every line, every pattern and every bow.

Effort

Weeks of hard work went into this grading. That meant extra practice at home, early arrivals at class and plenty of repetitions when nobody was watching. On the day, it showed. Students pushed through the fitness section, kept going when their legs were burning and gave every technique their full commitment. Effort is the one thing you can always control, and our students gave all of it.

Confidence

Standing in front of the panel with everyone watching takes courage, especially for our younger and newer students. We saw students who were nervous at the start finish the day standing tall, shouting their kihap with pride and answering their theory questions clearly. That growth in confidence is what this is all about. It is the same confidence they take into school, work and everything else they do.

Energy

The atmosphere in the hall was brilliant. Students brought energy to every section, encouraged each other from the side lines and cheered loudly for every new belt. Parents and families played a big part too. Thank you for the support, the lifts and the patience during the practice sessions at home.

Focus

Patterns need a clear head: remembering every move, keeping stances strong and staying sharp from start to finish. Our students kept their focus even when the pressure was on. They listened to every instruction, showed great discipline in line and finished their patterns with real control.

Levelling up

From first-time graders taking their first step up from white belt to our more experienced students moving into the higher kup grades, everyone moved forward. A new belt is a reward for what you have already done. It is also a promise of what comes next. Each new colour brings new techniques, new patterns and new challenges to work towards.

If you graded last week, wear that new belt with pride. You earned it.

What happens next

Training carries straight on, and the new syllabus work starts now. Keep coming to class, keep practising at home, and keep living the pillars of effort, confidence, energy and focus. Your next grading is already on its way.

Well done, Warriors. We are incredibly proud of every one of you.
